Strain Description: Dmtf1 (DMP-1, Cyclin D-binding Myb-like Protein) is a transcription factor that positively regulates p19Arf expression. DMP-1-null mice develop tumors late in life and DMP-1 is haploinsufficient for tumor formation. DMP-1 loss reduces selective pressure for p53 and Arf mutations in tumors.

Cryopreservation Mating Scheme: The cryopreservation mating scheme is C57BL/6 females x heterozygous males. When maintained as a live colony, breeder pairs were distributed as a heterozygote male x wildtype C57BL/6 female. DMP1-null animals are small at birth and develop more slowly than +/- mice. Some DMP-1 null mice die before they can be genotyped.
