Tissue Analysis Core

Overview

The Tissue Analysis Core provides state-of-the-art tissue analysis capabilities including immunofluorescence, single and double label immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, quantitative image analysis, and laser capture microdissection. The core supports investigators within the AIDS and Cancer Virus Program and both intramural and extramural investigators working on studies relevant to key questions in HIV/AIDS research.

The core provides expertise for analysis of specimens from humans and animal model studies, with emphasis on non-human primate specimens infected with a Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV). Studies supported by the core are aimed at better understanding HIV/SIV mucosal transmission, reservoir biology, pathogenesis, and therapeutic intervention strategies.
