All orders from the NCI Mouse Repository are governed by Material Transfer Agreements. To receive frozen embryos you must provide an MTA, which must be signed by an authorized official representing your institution (e.g., technology transfer officer, grants/contracts administrator). After submitting the on-line order form, you will be brought to a confirmation page which has a link to the Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) for this particular mouse model. Please indicate the authorized recipient official at your institution:

If individual(s) other than the Recipient Scientist and Authorized Recipient Official should receive the MTA for this order, please list their e-mail address(es) below:

Shipping Information

A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) must be completed before shipment can occur (see below). After the NCI Mouse Repository receives MTA activation notification, the recipient scientist will be contacted to coordinate the transfer.

THE MATERIAL TO BE SHIPPED IS TIME-SENSITIVE SO IT IS CRUCIAL THAT THE SHIPPING ADDRESS IS FOR THE PERSON WHO WILL RECEIVE THE EMBRYOS.

The recipient is responsible for all shipping costs, which will be billed directly by the courier service. Please select a courier service from the list below and provide the account number to be charged:

PLEASE NOTE: The NCI Mouse Repository will ship NO MORE THAN 4 strains at any one time.

Additional Ordering Information for Frozen Embryos

If embryos are requested, approximately 25-30 embryos will be provided per shipment. If sperm is requested, one straw of 3-4 "100ul" aliquots of sperm will be provided per shipment. Additionally, the requestor must provide to the Repository an appropriate shipping container (liquid nitrogen dry shipper). If your laboratory does not have a container, you may be able to obtain one through your courier. It is highly recommended the embryos are used immediately upon receipt see Protocol for Cryopreservation and Cryorecovery of Embryos in vials [PDF] or (2) Protocol for Cryopreservation and Cryorecovery of Embryos in straws [PDF] or (3) Protocol for Cryopreservation and Cryorecovery of Sperm [PDF]. The recipient laboratory is responsible for all costs related to shipping and cryorecovery. Since the NCI Mouse Repository has no control over cryorecovery methods and procedures it will not be responsible for failure to recover live mice.

The recipient is responsible for all costs associated with return transfer of the liquid nitrogen dry shipper. Since the NCI Mouse Repository has no control over cryorecovery methods and procedures at the recipient's institution, the NCI Mouse Repository will not be responsible for failure to recover live mice.
