Training for rapid response clinical research FNL Global Clinical Research Educational Modules

Learn about challenges in clinical research during emergency infectious disease outbreaks and strategies to overcome them. Earn continuing education units or continuing medical education units upon successful completion.

The Frederick National Laboratory Global Clinical Research Educational Modules (FNL GCREM) curriculum is a series of modules developed by our Clinical Monitoring Research Program in partnership with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Division of Clinical Research to share our collaborative approach to rapid response clinical research.

Conducting clinical research amid an infectious disease outbreak brings many challenges, but experience shows us clinical study results can improve patient outcomes. The training series is designed to show you how our teams remediate difficult conditions, and our recommendations and strategies to enhance clinical research preparedness for emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks.

Experienced and aspiring clinical researchers worldwide can learn how the Clinical Monitoring Research Program leverages our tools and expertise to build clinical research infrastructure, including our approach in resource-constrained locations, during infectious disease outbreaks, and in areas of armed conflict.

Themes and topics

  • Clinical research in resource-challenged and health emergency settings
  • Applying project management to global clinical research
  • Navigating regulations, guidelines, and oversight
  • Protocol development and complex trial designs
