Strain Information
Common Strain Name: 12T-10 Pricing and Ordering Information
Strain Nomenclature: CD-1-Tg(Pbsn-Tag)12T10Rjm/Nci
Animal State: Frozen Embryo
Release Category (Required for MTA form): B1

Strain Description: These mice carry an SV40 T antigen transgene driven by the rat probasin promoter. Male and female transgenics can be used as breeders, but because the transgene integrated into the X chromosome only female mice will pass it on to male offspring. Transgenic males develop low-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia progressing to high-grade PIN, microinvasion, invasive carcinoma and poorly or undifferentiated carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation.

Additional Information
Cryopreservation Mating Scheme: The cryopreservation mating scheme is wildtype CD-1 males x hemizygous females. When maintained as a live colony, breeder pairs were distributed as a hemizygous female x wildtype CD-1 male. Transgene located on the X chromosome. Average litter size is 10-14.
