Topic

Kate Vendemio, PMP and founder and CEO of Mt. Vernon Consulting, tackles one of the toughest parts of project management: keeping people motivated when so much of it is out of your control. Project managers are asked to hold teams together through long timelines, shifting priorities, and stakeholders pulling in different directions, often while leading people who don’t report to them and whose energy can fade well before the project does. Add in economic pressure, reorganizations, competing demands from other managers, and the sheer stamina required to keep a team engaged from kickoff to close, and motivation becomes less a soft skill and more a survival skill.

Kate will draw on a proven diagnostic framework for identifying what’s actually driving a performance or engagement problem, along with a practical map of the individual factors that motivate people differently. Attendees will leave with tools to diagnose motivation issues before they become retention issues, and to lead teams with intention even when the org chart doesn’t give them the authority to do it the easy way.
