Dr. John Otridge has been with the Frederick National Laboratory since January 2015. During his tenure, he has held several positions in support of the laboratory’s work for the NCI. Otridge joined as a Technical Project Manager within Center for Technical Support Operations (CTOS), took over as the CTOS Director of Program Management in July 2017 and then became CTOS Director in January 2023.
At the Frederick National Laboratory, Dr. Otridge has contributed to many projects and helped initiate and orchestrate several initiatives: the Cancer Research Data Commons, the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative, and NIAID’s Discovery Portal. The CTOS team manage projects for multiple institutes and entities, NCI, NIAID, and Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). CTOS manages projects for multiple NCI groups; Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Center for Cancer Genomics (CCG), Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP), Division of Cancer Control and Populations Sciences (DCCPS), and Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD).
Prior to joining the Frederick National Laboratory, Dr. Otridge worked in several life sciences organizations in various roles: Scientific applications specialist and then portal operations manager at Celera Genomics, product manager at Invitrogen/Life Technologies and Progenika, scientific technical manager at Constella and program manager at Gene Logic and BioFortis.
Dr. Otridge holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Dublin City University in the Republic of Ireland and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University at Buffalo, New York. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) in Bethesda, Maryland.
