Dr. Denise Whitby received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London, UK. She joined the AIDS and Cancer Virus Program in 1999 where she is the head of the Viral Oncology Section. Her research interest centers on KSHV, which she has studied since its discovery in 1994. She is a recognized global leader in the KSHV community, particularly for the development of immunoassays and KSHV epidemiology.
