Carrie Belasco serves as the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Belasco is responsible for compliance, risk, audit, and quality to maintain and invigorate a compliance culture with the president and key leadership that clearly defines the standards, policies, and processes to deter fraud, waste, and abuse. This includes management of an ethics and compliance program aligned with the National Institutes of Health and Leidos Corporate policies and tailored for the FFRDC as approved by the Leidos Biomedical Research Board of Directors.

Belasco brings more than 18 years of experience to this role. Belasco joined the Frederick National Laboratory in 2003. At that time, she helped to build the newly formed Internal Audit Department and would eventually lead the Department. Throughout her career at the Frederick National Laboratory, Belasco has worked with many directorates and departments and has earned the reputation as a trusted advisor, effective communicator, open-minded listener, and innovator of business solutions.

Belasco received her B.A. in Accounting from the University of Alaska in Anchorage, AK, and her M.B.A. from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. Belasco also holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
