Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc.

Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. (formerly SAIC-Frederick, Inc.) is the operations and technical support (OTS) contractor for the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. The current OTS contract with the National Cancer Institute runs from 2008 to 2018.

Leidos Biomedical Research is a subsidiary of Leidos (formerly SAIC). The subsidiary took its new name from the division of SAIC into two independent companies, effective September 27, 2013. One of the new companies retained the SAIC name, the other took the name of Leidos.

Under its contract with NCI, Leidos Biomed employs about 1,800 scientists, technicians, administrators, and support staff who operated a wide range of leading-edge research and development laboratories in the areas of genetics and genomics, proteins and proteomics, advanced biomedical computing and information technology, biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing, nanotechnology characterization, and clinical trials management.

Leidos Biomed (under the former name of SAIC-Frederick) has been the proud recipient of the Maryland Work-Life Alliance Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval.
